Solo exhibition by Michael Hanna
Predictable Contact is a complex audio-visual installation embracing layering, remixing and appropriation. The short films presented at the Walled City Brewery are composed of a combination of digital animation, home-made audio and video, and appropriated material from multifarious sources. In his work, Hanna translates psychological research into physical environments, examining the ways in which people, digital material and architecture can exist together, ultimately seeking to nurture this coexistence. The exhibition is responding to the architecture of the brewery transforming the space into an immersive installation.
Predictable contact is part of Visual Artists Ireland’s ‘New Spaces’ project, and it is kindly supported by Inner City Trust, Visual Artists Ireland and Derry City and Strabane Council. We would also like to thank Void, Golden Thread Gallery and CCA Derry~Londonderry.
